I want a dog sometime in the near future. I absolutely love the beach and would love nothing more than to be able to take a dog to the beach and play fetch, frisbee, etc. I was looking for something more in the medium size range. Personally I have always loved collies and border collies. What are your suggestions?
I have a 12 year old collie/shephard mix who gets along well with other animals. I was walking her this morning, holding the leash in my left hand, like I always do. Suddenly a large black dog at least as big as my dog attacked us from my right. It just ran up to us snarling and leaped toward us. My dog got between us. Then the black dog attacked her and wouldn’t stop. There was no provacation. I tried to go around and pull the other dog off or kick him or something, but my dog insisted on staying between us. I couldn’t come close to the other dog. Finally, someone came out of her house and said, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know ayone was out here.” I told her to call off her dog or I would report it to the police. Finally, she called “Blackie” and the dog eventually went to her, but came right back and started biting my dog again. I threatened a lawsuit and she finally got her dog to come inside her fence.
Question? How could we have gotten away if the owner hadn’t come out
I have an older German Shepherd/Border Collie and he decides to run in full speed in crazy 8′s literally in that pattern in the living room for 20 minutes. Every day when I come home from work. No matter how often or how long I take him for walks he still does that. It still makes me laugh every time.
My new recent adopted puppy, makes this sound when playing that sounds like a gremlin. I can’t help, but laugh as it sounds disturbing and odd.
I am in a mess right now, I have a border collie who pulls non-stop! I’ve tried every single head collar out there but she just will not tolerate it. I’ve tried just training her with a leash and collar but she always chokes herself until she throws up. I am looking for a harness that works beautifully, but I am not sure which one to buy. Any advice will be greatly appriciated!
Well, I have a smart little doggie, and she’s very easily bored with the toys she has right now. She’s a shepard collie cross, and, to my dismay, she’s already mastered how to get treats out of Kong toys. Right now, I’m keeping her occupied with an oddly shaped treat inside of a plastic water bottle ><.
So, if anyone knows some other toys I could get for her, that would be awesome. Even better, would be links to where I can purchase these items online.
I have a male Labrador/Collie and he’s about 7 months old. He’s quite good at training but when he has a chew or something and I go to stroke him he’ll start growling and eventually snarl (he never bites). He also does it if he’s eating his food or if he’s tired. I know that you should leave to eat in peace but he still shouldn’t be growling!
I have one female border collie mix about 1 years old. Who gets along well with other dogs, puppies, cats, etc. Loves people. She behaves fairly well on her own during the day. Inside and out.
I want to get another dog. Preferably another BC mix..
Would a male or a female be better for her? A lower or similar energy level dog? – they will need to keep up with her playfulness and energy..
