I’ve had a Puggle (Pug/Beagle mix) for almost 2 years now since she was a itty bitty thing. She’s my first dog and since I’m still new at this I have some questions….
(and if you could number your answers it would help too)

1. Do all dogs snore? She’s really loud sometimes.
2. Do all dogs at some point in thier lives have to have their glands pressed (or whatever it’s called)?
3. My friend has 5 dogs, 4 of them trim their own nails by nibbling them. Is this something that can be taught?
4. How old do they generally live to be?
5. She run laps around the coffe table every night before bed. Is this something she will someday grow out of? (I hope not, it’s hilarious)
6. How do you transition a dog from being in a kennel when you’re gone to being out in the apartment. Is it too early? I tried once leaving her in the bedroom when I went fishing but she opened my hubby’s tums, took the sheets off the bed and threw up peppermint tums everywhere.
7. How do you get a dog to just chill out around people or does this go away with age?
8. She licked a toad the other night and if my hubby wasn’t there to tell me the foam was normal and she’d be oky I probably would’ve taken her to an animal hospital freaking out. Is there any other things like this I should know about?

I like the looks of Beagles but have read stuff about their smaller frame meaning you couldn’t take them for as long runs/jogs? Is that true? I want to get a dog that I can take for 1-2 mile walk/runs and then occasionally through in a 5 mile jog/run with. Could a beagle handle that? I’m sure a lab retriever could, right? What are good short-haired, playful (must) pet dogs with which you can be really active? Thanks!

We have a 6 month old lab. My husband would like to get another dog & I dont want another lab. At least not right now, I would like to wait until ours is at least a year. But if we do end up getting another dog soon, I would like a smaller dog. Somewhere in the beagle size range or smaller. But the dog would need to be able to handle playing with a bigger dog. Do you have any suggestions as to which breed is a good match to play with our lab?

Basically his owner was kicking and beating the crap out of him in the parking lot and I called the police and then they asked if I would look after the dog. I took him to the vet (that @#$hole) kicked him so hard he kicked his privates up inside of him. OMG The vet said he’ll be okay but he needs love and time. I’ve got him here now sort of holding him, he keeps whining and I know he’s in pain and scared and he’s probably like who the heck are you? Someone else who’s going to be mean to me? It just breaks my heart. But I’ve never had a pet of any kind before and I don’t know really what to do?
